Worm Turner: Faith No More announce ‘We Care A Lot’ re-issue with original recordings

With the release of last year’s masterful album Sol Invictus, Faith No More proved their recent reunion wasn’t a pure nostalgia act. With the influential Bay Area rock band’s place firmly re-established, now’s a good time to start revisiting their past glory.

This morning Faith No More announced they will reissue debut 1985 album We Care A Lot, complete with nine bonus tracks, original master reels, live recordings, exclusive photos, and liner notes penned by keyboardist Roddy Bottum. It’ll be released August 19 via bassist Bill Gould’s Koolarrow Records.

“There were a couple of reasons we decided to release this now: first of all, it’s been 20 years since it has been commercially available,” says Gould in a press release. “Secondly, when cleaning out my basement, I discovered the original master reels, and we all thought that resurrecting this from the original tapes would be a great way to reintroduce We Care A Lot into the world. Lastly, this has been a band effort; we are releasing this in the same way as we recorded it, deciding everything amongst ourselves and getting our hands deep into the nuts and bolts… just like we used to.”
