Here In Our Lives: Boston electronic-pop trio Citrusphere covers Depeche Mode at ZuZu

Our intrepid photographer Eddy Leiva spent the entire past weekend shooting nearly 30 bands and artists at Boston Calling Music Festival, but in a fit of tirelessness, decided to keep the marathon going by catching Citrusphere’s set Monday night at Zuzu in Cambridge.

We posted his stand-alone photo to our social pages yesterday morning, but since then we’ve discovered some live footage from the show, in particular, of the Boston electronic-pop group covering Depeche Mode’s 1990 classic “Enjoy The Silence.”

The video, shot by Colin St. John, is a bit raw, but Citrusphere’s energy and passion shines through. All this sudden Citrusphere is our lives has led us back to their March album Iatrogenic, and it’s no lie in revealing that opening track “New Lungs” has been in constant rotation here at Vanya HQ since we first heard it.

Check out the album in full after the Mode jump, and find us at Citrusphere’s next live show, whenever and wherever that may be.
