Photo Gallery: Metric and Joywave provide a break from St. Patrick’s Day at the Orpheum

Editor’s Note: Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day around Boston, providing both city revelers and the bridge and tunnel crowd plenty of opportunities to drink green beer, hear some sweet Irish bagpipes, and lay a dropkick on a dude named Murph. Those at the Orpheum Theatre, however, opted out of shamrocks and shenanigans, instead rocking out last night to veteran Canadian rock band Metric, and some class Rochester dudes who Voltron it up as Joywave. Both bands are making some of the most exciting music of these still-uncertain twenty-teens, and Vanyaland’s Matthew Shelter was at the downtown venue to capture the sights that accompanied the sounds.
