New Kings: Tribe Society announce summer tour with Goo Goo Dolls and Collective Soul

A summer tour featuring two ’90s mainstays will be getting some modern sounds straight out of New England.

Tribe Society, the New York-based band born out of one-time Massachusetts hopefuls Gentlemen Hall, will be hitting the road for 38-date sunshine jaunt later this year with pop-rock hitmakers Goo Goo Dolls and Collective Soul. The tour kicks off July 8 at Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon, and wraps September 16 at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center in Nevada.

Naturally, there’s a Boson date: August 16 at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion. The tour also makes stops in New Hampshire (August 14 at Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook Gilford, and Maine (August 17 at Maine State Pier in Portland), and other highlights include a July 17 gig at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and a September 13 show at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. Tickets to the Boston show go on sale Friday at noon.

Opening for Collective Soul and Goo Goo Dolls should add some additional national recognition for the band. After releasing debut EP Lucid Dreams last year, breakout hit “Kings” has been featured in several television and online promotional campaigns, including spots for the 2015 Major League Baseball playoffs and December’s UFC 194 fight between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.

Tribe Society also headlined our Sound Of Our Town party last September with the Boston Music Awards, a local showcase at the Lawn On D that also starred Ruby Rose Fox, Vundabar, Bearstronaut, Will Dailey, and others.
