Prepare for a night of Netflix and no chill — Raw Blow style.
Just in time for their winter tour through New England that kicks off Thursday at O’Brien’s in Allston, the Boston dirt-rock dudes are taking it to the television screens in “Don’t Try”, their new music video that we are psyched to premiere this morning on Vanyaland. Directed by Mason Marino, known previously for his work with fellow Bostonians Choke Up, the clip pits Raw Blow as stars of their own independent TV show, filmed in deep down in their basement and capped off each episode with a live performance.
Find out who gets disrespected, who stole the cheese, and just how guitarist Adam Caries creates those beautiful, fluffy galaxy designs with the video below.
As Raw Blow hits the road, take note: They’ll be bringing along with them vinyl copies of their debut 7-inch, Slow Choke, which has been re-released through Tor Johnson Records. Putting the blistering record to wax was a no-brainer for the Providence label.
“Every member of this band has been involved with the label in one way or another through the years and we’re happy to keep it in the family,” writes owner Paul Dechichio of Tor Johnson. “This record is the official vinyl release of a limited edition tour cassette that was released in 2014. We’re happy to give these songs a proper home and help Raw Blow continue to make crushing music.”
All that’s left now is the DVD. And finding the cheese thief.
