These Things Take Time, Lord: Here’s a Morrissey-inspired Doctor Who comic book cover

Dalek on the streets of London… or in this case, Manchester.

Titan Comics has unveiled a new Morrissey-inspired Doctor Who comic book cover, just in time for The Queen Is Dead’s 30th anniversary (which arrives June 16, in case you’re wondering). For Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor #2.6, illustrator Simon Myers has depicted the Tenth Doctor as the Smiths frontman, clutching a gladioli and posing in front of the famous Salford Lads Club.

“Cover artist Simon Myers has already found inspiration with Doctor Who cover variants from the likes of Blondie and David Bowie, but this time sets his sights on the much-loved Morrissey from The Smiths,” writes Titan Comics in a press release. “The cover sees the Tenth Doctor as played by David Tennant in front of the iconic Salford Lads’ Club, which The Smiths posed in front of the building for the inside cover of their album The Queen Is Dead.”

This special variant cover will be released on February 3. For more information on its release and availability, check Comic Book Resources. Here’s a full look:
