So, it seems we’ve hit a new milestone on the “cool” superhighway: a new remake of The Thomas Crown Affair is coming out next spring, and Michael B. Jordan will be stepping into the shoes previously worn by the likes of Steve McQueen and Pierce Brosnan. We can hardly imagine a better person to do so. He’s also directing (if you never saw Creed III when that was out, go out and watch that immediately), so we’re very excited. So, yeah. We’re in a new era of cool, and MGM dropped a teaser on Wednesday just so you can see how dope the world of tomorrow will be. Fresh as hell.

Take a look:

Here’s the new-fangled synopsis for The Thomas Crown Affair:

“Academy Award winner Michael B. Jordan directs, produces, and stars in a visually breathtaking, sensual, and unexpectedly moving heist thriller, where the most dangerous man in the room is the one nobody’s watching.”

And just for shits and giggles, here’s the synopsis for the Steve McQueen original, which you can watch for free on YouTube:

“A self-made Boston millionaire Thomas Crown (Steve McQueen) masterminds a bank heist in hopes of leaving it all behind. Tired of being part of the Establishment, he has hopes of pulling off the caper and flying to Rio. The cast of crooks lead by Erwin Weaver (Jack Weston) manage to pull off the robbery without a hitch and without ever actually meeting Crown. After depositing 3 million into a Swiss bank account and paying off the crooks, Crown waits for the insurance company to repay the bank for the loss. With the help of savvy detective Eddy Malone (Paul Burke), insurance investigator Vicky Anderson (Faye Dunaway) attempts to find the mastermind behind the heist.”

The Thomas Crown Affair hits theaters on March 5. Hype.
