Lowell If You Want To: The 1975 announce spring tour, include Massachusetts date

British pop group the 1975 play a sold-out House of Blues in Boston tonight, but their return to Massachusetts isn’t too far off on the horizon.

With new LP I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It due for a February release, the Manchester lads come back to North America for a spring 2016 tour that crashes the Tsongas Center on May 18. Fan pre-sale begins December 9, and tickets go on sale to the general public two days later.

“For anyone going to the December tour dates in the US,” the band’s camp writes, “nothing will prepare you for the new show, it is unbelievable.”

Good to know! Back in October, following a mysterious “did they break up or didn’t they?” stunt over the summer, the 1975 released comeback single “Love Me”, a bizarre hybrid of David Bowie’s “Fame” and Peter Gabriel’s “Steam”. People seem to like it.
