Remember the first time you heard Arctic Monkeys’ storming debut single “I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor”? It was 2006, and it seemed like anything was possible, especially in the world of UK indie.
While it turned that out Alex Turner and company never again achieved those initial rock and roll highs, the sensation of their first single still resonates. Now, East London-based sister duo Xylaroo have given the smash hit a twirl, stripping it down to basics with Coco and Holly Chant breathing in new life as a folk-laden heart-tugger.
Xylaroo’s “I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor” was recorded in their home, and should be a nice springboard for their upcoming UK tour with Matt Berry & The Maypoles, the Bafta Award winning actor’s latest project. Check their dates, and the Arctics cover, below…
