Song Premiere: Lunglust succeed in ripping your face off with new track ‘Godless State’

It’s been a crazy past few days in the world of religion.

Earlier this week, the Oklahoma state capitol removed a Ten Commandments monument under the cover of darkness, ordered by a court ruling and an attempt by the Satanic Temple to erect a nine-foot statue of Baphomet on the same grounds. Then on Wednesday, we all sat tight holding our asses as the Pennsylvania-based eBible Fellowship predicted the world would be “annihilated.” Yesterday arrived without much interference.

Today, Boston’s dirty hardcore overlords Lunglust come through with a rather timely new song, the pummeling “Godless State.” It’s the follow-up to July’s metal blitz “Sovereign Ends” — which has no doubt frightened a few daytime listeners on VanyaRadio’s “This Is 617” — and is the latest off the Boston metal crew’s upcoming eight-track LP, Repetition Is Hell.

We’ll get a healthy taste of new Lunglust tunes live and in action come Monday, when they cap off Columbus Day with a beast show at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston. The Stay Mad Productions show also features Ohio’s Fistula, New Hampshire’s Ramlord, Dutchguts out of New Jersey, and Boston’s Leather Lung. More details on the flyer, and music can be heard via each band’s link.

Listen to “Godless State” below via Lunglust’s Bandcamp page, and check out the cover art designed by Ryan Kasparian.
