Faith In The Moment: Suede return with driving new single, ‘Outsiders’

A few weeks ago Suede announced new LP Night Thoughts, the follow-up to 2013’s excellent comeback album Bloodsports. The new effort is set to arrive in January with a full-length feature film companion, and this morning the re-born British rock band provided a glimpse into the package’s sound and vision in its first single, “Outsiders.” The song is a driving, focused rock number that not only suggests the last LP was no fluke, but also puts a nice showcase on guitarist Richard Oakes, who takes center stage here while frontman Brett Anderson provides urgent vocals.

Meanwhile, Night Thoughts, Suede’s seventh studio LP, is officially out January 22. Between the teased visuals and the first single, the Ed Buller-produced record is already taking on a very dark, winter-like feel, similar to 1994 masterpiece Dog Man Star. Night Thoughts was recorded in London and Brussels, and the band will perform it live in its entirety against the backdrop of the film over two nights at London venue The Roundhouse on November 13 and 14.
