Post Wesley: Buckle up as BOYTOY go ‘Postal’ in announcement for new album ‘Grackle’

Usually when we hype new music from New York’s BOYTOY, we reference some of the band members’ former lives in a beloved Boston band that once held the record for most-ever live performances at Great Scott. But nope, we just won’t do that here, because the trio’s new track “Postal” is just too good, and by now BOYTOY have shed that old Massachusetts skin into something entirely new and fresh. So we just won’t go there.

Where we will go, however, is hard into the aural bowl of skate-rock with the gliding assistance of “Postal,” the first nuggets off the band’s upcoming debut album, Grackle. Recorded with producer Al Creedon (Eternal Summers/Bleeding Rainbow), the LP arrives October 2 on PaperCup Music, but not before BOYTOY hit the road later this month for a string of East Coast dates, including a few in support of La Luz in the southeast.

There’s no Boston date, but we’re sure something is in the works. Get psyched on Grackle by listening to “Postal” below…
