Slipknot bassist rushed to hospital in ambulance during show in Hartford last night

Slipknot interrupted their show last night in Hartford when bassist Alessandro “V Man” Venturella needed to be hospitalized with an unknown ailment. The metal band was playing the XFINITY Theatre, and were a few songs into their set before Venturella became ill.

According to reports this morning, Venturella suffered from “an unknown medical emergency” and was quickly rushed to the hospital. Slipknot resumed the show as an eight-piece after about a 20-minute delay, with frontman Corey Taylor addressing the crowd and stating that Venturella would want the show to go on.

From TMZ:

Alessandro “V Man” Venturella got onstage with the band Sunday night in Hartford, Connecticut but after a few songs the band abruptly stopped and went backstage. They returned minus V Man, and lead singer Corey Taylor told the audience, “I’m sorry to say that our bass player, Alex, had … something happened.”

Alex was rushed to the hospital and the band continued its performance. The nature of the medical emergency is unclear.

According to Blabbermouth, Taylor continued: “But I want you all to make fucking noise for him. Send him some fucking love. Now, we had a choice to come back out here. We’ve had to modify some shit, but we’re gonna keep on playing for you. It’s what we want, it’s what Alex would fucking want.”
