Radio On: Morning Guy Tai’s Top 10 reasons to go to tonight’s Ex-FNX party in Cambridge

The dream of WFNX Radio is still alive and well in New England. And tonight it will be visible and audible in Cambridge.

Three former DJs from the alternative rock radio station — which ended its FM broadcast after 29 years in July 2012, with its online component quickly following in March 2013 when the Boston Phoenix shuttered — are hosting Ex-FNX Night at the Phoenix Landing in Central Square. Music will be provided by Mike Gioscia, Neal Robert, Morning Guy Tai.

“Tai and I were thinking of doing an ‘FNX boat cruise,” Gioscia tells Vanyaland, “then we thought ‘fuck, what if we book a boat and get 23 people?’ So we said fuck it and went for a smaller more intimate thing. We’ll grow it. Should be fun.”

To get us properly primed, Morning Guy Tai, who hosted the WFNX Morning Drive from 1985 to 1997, crafted a Top 10 reasons to attend list on Twitter. More details on the party can be found via the flyer down below…
