Into The Wild: British house duo Disclosure announce details on new album ‘Caracal’

As we approach the midway point of 2015, it should already be considered a pretty great year for new albums. Releases by Speedy Ortiz, Courtney Barnett, Kendrick Lamar, and Blur should all dominate year-end Top 10 lists, but British house duo Disclosure are bound to shake things up with news of a new LP of their own.

Over the weekend during their live set at Wild Life Festival in England, brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence unveiled the details on the follow-up to their 2013 breakout Settle, which will be out September 25 in the United States. The new record is called Caracal, named for a wild cat native to parts of Africa and Asia; the album artwork even has Disclosure’s trademark line work, this time in feline form.

“A caracal is an incredible wild cat that I became fascinated with while on tour last year,” explains Howard Lawrence in a presser. “I just love the way they look, their physical capabilities and their anonymity. It felt like a perfect fit for our WILD LIFE brand too, so the caracal made perfect sense as the lead visual for the new album and over the course of recording, it also felt like a natural title for the new record too.”

Settle sold 1.6 million units worldwide, as well as 5.3 million singles and helped launch the career of Sam Smith with breakout single “Latch.”

Disclosure also announced two stateside dates for later this year: September 29 at Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena and October 24 at Madison Square Garden in New York City (general on-sale is June 13). The Lawrences will perform at DJ set at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas on June 20.
