Converse is celebrating its new Boston headquarters by teaming up with Bowery Boston for an absolutely batshit lineup of free, all-ages shows at the Sinclair. The five nights, starting Monday, April 27 and concluding Friday, May 1, boast a lineup to rival any summer music festival. And it’ll pack out the game-changing 525-capacity Harvard Square rock club like never before.
Headliners include the Replacements, Passion Pit, Slayer, Chance The Rapper, and Descendants. Other bands playing are Dinosaur Jr., Baths, Doomriders, Action Bronson, and King Tuff. And the local “opener” slots feature Boston-area bands that have taken part in the Converse Rubber Tracks Series: the Young Leaves, Radclyffe Hall, Rozamov, Michael Christmas, and Bent Shapes.
Deep breath. Read that again.
Actually, take it in a different way, via the nightly lineups below, each catering to a specific genre: Indie, electro-pop, metal, hip-hop, and punk.
“In anticipation of Converse’s momentous move from North Andover to Boston, we wanted to bring our Converse Rubber Tracks music platform to the city in the most incredible way possible,” says Jed Lewis, Converse Global Music Marketing Director, in a presser. “The city of Boston has always supported us and this free, five-day concert series featuring local artists is our way of showing our gratitude and appreciation to the residents who continue to embrace Converse as part of the community.”
Tickets will be distributed through a lottery, and those who wish to attend can register online starting Monday at noon to converse-Music.com/boston and pick two tickets to their desired night. Registration closes at noon Wednesday, and Converse will notify ticketholders by e-mail later that night.
