He Knows We’d Love To See Him: Morrissey announces 2nd US show; summer tour forming?

Is Morrissey’s rumored North American summer tour finally starting to take shape?

A few weeks after revealing he’ll be one of the headliners at Firefly Music Festival in Delaware the weekend of June 18 to 21, the Mozzer today announced a second stateside show: July 18 at the Depot in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Holding both those gigs up to the light and noticing a month of cold, lonely emptiness on the calendar in between, it’s easy to speculate that this could be the first sign of a proper North American tour.

Morrissey has been on tour in Europe for most of March, and after two appearances in Spain (April 29 at Razzmatazz and May 1 at Festival SOS 4.8), the former Smiths frontman then plays four shows in six nights at Australia’s Sydney Opera House (May 26 to 31).

From there on out, his summer schedule appears to be wide open, so hopefully the Delaware and Utah shows are the start of something bigger.

Back in December, Morrissey said he hoped to have a new album — the follow-up to 2014’s just fine World Peace Is None Of Your Business — out sometime in 2015, and earlier this week released “Kiss Me A Lot” as its latest single.

We’ll have more info on any additional show announcements as they becomes available.

In the meantime, here’s a look at some of his recent performances.
