I-G-G-Whyyyyyy: Iggy Azalea reschedules ‘The Great Escape’ tour, Boston show postponed to October

North America will have to wait through the summer to feel “Fancy.”

Word came out today that Iggy Azalea has rescheduled her massive North American tour “due to tour production delays,” Billboard relays from Def Jam Recordings. The 21-date tour, which was set to start next month and is dubbed “The Great Escape,” will now take place in the fall. The May 6 Boston date at TD Garden will now go down on October 6.

Billboard also writes that the delay is also “due to lack of promotion and conflict between her and management,” though Azalea’s camp denies any rift between the beleaguered rapper and her team. Def Jam Recordings say that “to accommodate for creative team availability and tour productions, it was determined that the tour will not be ready this spring. It’s important to Iggy that she delivers the show she envisaged to share with her fans and that requites more time in development.”

The Hollywood Gossip has reported that advance ticket sales to “The Great Escape” tour have been “dismal”.

Opening acts Nick Jonas and Tinashé will not be a part of the rescheduled run, reportedly and new openers will be announced shortly.
