Time Is Running Out: Listen to a 12-second snippet of possible new Muse single ‘Psycho’

While in the studio finishing up their upcoming album Drones, Muse have been busy on Instagram over the past few days, teasing us with audio snippets, potential release dates, and other notable production work. But about an hour ago the British rock band raised the stakes, unveiling a 12-second snippet of what’s likely their first single off the record, “Psycho.”

Listen to it below.

Six days ago, Muse posted an image of a drone with the numbers “0615” on its wing, fueling speculation that the album could be released in June, as in “June 2015,” or more specifically, on June 15, which falls on a Monday, the traditional new album release day in the United Kingdom (never mind the whole issue of the dates being backwards).

Late last month, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy appeared to reveal “Psycho” as a new track via Twitter, telling a fan over social media that the single was “too offensive for radio.”

Surely, more clues will be coming soon, and at this point, we’re all just piecing things together. What we do know is that Drones is the first Muse studio record since 2012’s The 2nd Law, and will be out sometime in 2015.
