Live Sex: Watch the Shills lay down the business with their cover of Ginuwine’s ‘Pony’

There are a few things in this world that are truly timeless. Buffalo wings. Boston sports teams. And Ginuwine’s 1996 hot-sex stripper anthem, “Pony.”

The certified Jam Of All Jams was thrust back into our lives last week in the Magic Mike XXL trailer, where Channing Tatum started grinding it up to the track’s instantly-recognizable opening bumps. Now, Boston rock survivors the Shills have added their own bit of funk to get down to, releasing an in-the-studio video today that rides just as long as you need it to.

The Shills describe their “Pony” as an “early Valentines gift from us to you in the form of the sexiest ’90’s song we could think of,” and it’s another piece to the lead-in towards the band’s new album, Keep Your Hands Busy: Vol 2, due this spring.

Check out the ongoing Pledge Campaign here, and catch the Shills playing O’Brien’s Pub in Allston on February 20 alongside Idiot Genes and The Organ Beats.

If you ask nicely — and chip in a few coins to their Pledge — maybe you can jump on their “Pony” as well.
