Poster Leak? Firefly Music Fest rumor mill includes Morrissey, McCartney, the Killers and more

UPDATE January 26 9:29 a.m. EST: Run the Jewels, Spoon, and Bastille all confirmed… but so is Elliphant, who isn’t on the leaked poster. Stay tuned…

Earlier this month Coachella Music Festival announced its 2015 lineup without much of a hint or warning — eliminating the annual folly of faux posters circulating online trying to predict, or in some cases mock, the California fest’s new crop of performers. This weekend, that fun has shifted over to Delaware’s Firefly Music Festival, as a possibly fake, probably partially true poster has surfaced, listing several dozen performers allegedly set to play Dover’s Woodlands from June 18 to 21.

The names getting the big font treatment here? That Kanye collaborator called Paul McCartney, the previously on-hiatus Killers, and the king of on-again, off-again, Mr. Steven Patrick Morrissey. Check the full poster below, via EDMsecrets.

As Delaware Online notes, Firefly organizers say the full — and true — lineup will be revealed sometime next week. But since the leaked poster started circulating last night they haven’t come out to say it’s either incorrect or accurate. Like Morrissey’s lyrics in “Jack The Ripper,” they don’t agree, but they don’t refuse.

For the record, Chiddy Bang and Cheerleader are the only artists confirmed by the festival, and will perform in Philly as a launch party for Firefly.

As far as the poster below goes, if this is even close to 100% accurate, it’s a pretty fantastic lineup. We’d travel from Boston to see Morrissey perform, and the former Smiths singer does have a string of UK shows planned for March and a possible new record out later this year.

And any fest that has Charli XCX, Tove Lo, Betty Who, Ryan Weaver and Zella Day is A-ok with us, too. Toss in a healthy headliner crop that includes Bastille, Kings of Leon, Foster The People, and Modest Mouse, and we’re likely to make Delaware a summer destination come June.

But — we’ll find out for sure, next week.
