Last But Not Yeast: Steve Aoki will stop throwing cake at music festivals

The New Year has already seen some swift changes in the cultural landscape, from Justin Bieber joining Calvin Klein to Zola Jesus releasing her own Taiga-inspired fragrance, but now comes news that EDM producer and ambassador Steve Aoki will stop throwing cake at people at music festivals.

Where do the hungry go from here?

Aoki has been, uhhh, known to hurl cake at festival goers over the past few years, but the Californian will now reel things back, only throwing the baked goods at “die hard fans” at events or parties he is headlining. As part of the revelation, Aoki released a new track online, appropriately called “Cake Face.”

Read his statement below, then smear “Cake Face’s” sonic frosting all over your mouth’s ear holes.

To start the New Year I’m making some new changes and have decided I’ll no longer be caking fans at most festivals. There might be an exception here or there but for the most part I’ll be saving the CAKE for my headline shows, keeping it exclusive for the die hard fans.

So if you want to get caked, come to one of my headline shows like the Neon Future Experience that is happening across the USA and Canada in Feb/March, or at my upcoming Manchester and London shows, or in Vegas and Ibiza.

And to show my love to all the fans around the world that love the cake I wrote a song especially for YOU, properly titled CAKEFACE! It’s up now and free to download at soundcloud.com/steveaoki.

Love you to infinity and back. Now let’s go forward into the neon future!!

Cool.

“Cake Face” is also available for free download via Soundcloud. Some of Aoki’s greatest cake-throwing hits are after the jump.
