Hoax Alone!: Macaulay Culkin not dead; Pizza Underground will still play Allston next month

Macaulay Culkin is not dead. He was probably just found Home Alone. [Groan.]

For some reason or another, the 34-year-old actor was the subject of another internet death hoax this afternoon, the second since April, after a link from msnbc.website started spreading like online wildfire, fueling speculation that Culkin had died.

The Hollywood Reporter doused the flames and confirmed he is still alive. Kindly remove your palms from your cheeks, everyone.

Of course, a fully alive Macaulay Culkin means he will still be coming to Boston with his pizza-themed Velvet Underground tribute band next month. The Pizza Underground are scheduled to play Brighton Music Hall in Allston with Har Mar Superstar on December 6.

Let’s all meet up at Bravo next door. Here’s the Hollywood Reporter clearing things up for everyone…

Online rumors of actor Macaulay Culkin’s death have been revealed to be a hoax, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Claims about the 34-year-old Home Alone star’s alleged death began circulating Thursday. The actor’s reps told The Hollywood Reporter that the news of his alleged death was a hoax.

A number of Twitter users had already begun posting their condolences, assuming the rumors to be true.

This is the second time this year that Culkin has been the subject of false death rumors, with his reps having dismissed similar rumors in April.

Ok, whew. Glad that’s settled.

Tickets are still available for the Brighton Music Hall show…
