Game Changer: Kyla La Grange gets the call to soundtrack Assassin’s Creed Unity ads

The field of female electro-pop singers is growing more crowded by the day, but one of our favorite performers might have an inside track to mainstream audiences through a rather unconventional medium: a video game ad.

English singer Kyla La Grange’s track “To Be Torn” is featured in a new television and online ad for Ubisoft’s highly-anticipated Assassin’s Creed Unity, a game set in 18th century Paris during the French Revolution. It’s out November 11.

The subject matter of the game is probably why one of La Grange’s more dramatic tracks off 2011’s debut record Ashes is featured, instead of anything off the more upbeat and glossy Cut Your Teeth, which dropped in June. They probably didn’t have day-glo disco dance parties back then.

Check out the ad and the full song below, and keep it locked up top as we spin “Cut Your Teeth” and “The Knife” on regular rotation on VanyaRadio.
