‘SYRO’ Genetic: Details on first Aphex Twin record in 13 years revealed via ‘deep web’ browser Tor

If you read way too much into that mysterious Aphex Twin blimp hovering over London this weekend, or the weird Aphex Twin logos that showed up in New York around the same time, then congratulations, good news awaits: The first official Aphex Twin record since 2001’s Drukqs is on the way, and it’s called SYRO.

Here’s the word from Pitchfork, because this was no simple album announcement from Mr. Richard D. James:

It was announced via Tor, the deep web browser typically used for the internet’s shadier pursuits.

This morning, James tweeted a URL that only works with the Tor browser. The link revealed the above image, as well as what appears to be a tracklist. You can look at that below. We can confirm that all of this information: the image, the album title, and the tracklist, are all real and official.

There’s also this site, accessible using a regular browser, containing everything but the title and tracklist: http://syro2eznzea2xbpi.com/

Here’s the Aphex Twin tweet heard round the web:

And here’s what appears to be a track listing, also via P4k:
