WTF LSF: Watch Kasabian mash-up the ‘Sesame Street’ theme song with the Beach Boys’ ‘Good Vibrations’

Now a decade into their career, British rock band Kasabian are clearly in their DGAF zone, as evidenced by the April release of “Eez-Eh,” the polarizing lead single from this summer’s excellent 48:13 record.

Now they’ve gone mashed up the Sesame Street theme song with the Beach Boys’ ’60s classic “Good Vibrations.” The seamless combo cut was unveiled recently during Like A Version, a popular segment of Australian radio station Triple J where a band comes in and plays a song of their own as well as a cover. Not content with just busting out any old cover — we’d hoped for Miley Cyrus’ “SMS Bangerz,” which is what we think of every time we hear “Eez-Eh” — Kasabian took two beloved jingles and merged them together.

“The riffs are kinda similar,” says guitarist Serge Pizzorno. “I hope we’ve not offended too many people.”

Check it out below, and mark your calendars for September 26, when Kasabian return to Boston with a gig at the Paradise Rock Club.
