Listen to André Obin sound the ‘Sirens’ before tonight’s Wavelengths performance at the ICA

André Obin is on a prolific tear. Back in April he released his latest LP, Ways of Escape, a sonic shape-shifter of electronic sounds and aural daydreams that furthered his reputation as one of our city’s best musicians and producers. [Disclaimer: We like Obin’s music so much, Vanya Records put out his “Valencia” 7-inch in 2012.]

But while that record is still marinating in our playlists, Obin’s back with a new track, not featured on Ways of Escape, titled “Sirens.”

It’s an atmospheric, 4:20-long composition available for download via Obin’s Soundcloud, and comes just in time for his live performance tonight at the Institute of Contemporary Art as part of its summer Wavelengths series.

“As a way to say thanks for all of your support, here is a new synthwave track for free download,” Obin writes. “Special thanks to Tucker Dawson (@tuckdiggz) for the killer bass hook at 2:27. Enjoy the rest of the Summer everyone!”

Listen and download “Sirens” below. And speaking of Wavelengths, the series has already brought the likes of Peaches, Cakes Da Killa, and Autre Ne Veut to the Seaport (kudos to the organizers); check out its intriguing remaining schedule before the Soundcloud takes over the page.
