Hotter Than July: Adore Delano’s ‘Party’ is the summer drag queen anthem we needed

Last month, Adore Delano was busy getting caught up in some heartbreaking adoration. It was very dark.

But now that July is here and summer has full-on kicked us in the balls, it’s all about the outdoor “Party.” The famed West Coast performer — and star of the sixth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and seventh season of American Idol, what up! — dropped a new music video today, and it’s equal parts terrifying and awesome.

But it makes us want to be outside, like, right now.

In “Party,” the 24-year-old born Daniel Anthony Noriega pays tribute to everything from Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start The Fire” to Eddie Murphy’s “Party All The Time,” with shout-outs to Nena, Brody Dalle, and Bacardi.

In the colorful-ass video, Delano throws a backyard bash, the kind we wish we were invited to — bare-chested clowns, kiddie pools, and balloons.

A whole lot of fucking balloons. Le sigh.

By the way — Delano’s debut studio album, Till Death Do Us Party, dropped last month via Sidecar Records/Producer Entertainment Group.
