Urine Trouble: KISS’ Gene Simmons says he did not piss himself on stage in Denver [watch the video]

Ageless rock band KISS played Denver last Wednesday night, and now bassist Gene Simmons is defending himself from accusations he pissed himself right there on stage during the sing-along part of 1989 hit “Hide Your Heart.” In the fan video below — skip to the 3:40 mark — some heavy liquid can be seen pouring out of Simmons’ cod piece down onto the stage area.

The crowd might be chanting “do do do-do,” but it looked like Simmons was thinking about Number 1.

This wasn’t, as it turns out, no “Love Gun” emission. Instead, Simmons claims it was water. As Ultimate Classic Rock points out, “he quite logically points out that the previous song, ‘I Love it Loud,’ was when he did his famous blood-spitting trick. So in an effort to clean up for the rest of the show, Simmons says he poured water down the front of his outfit to get rid of the sticky mess, which consists of eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese and food coloring.”

That does seem to make sense, and the liquid in question isn’t a steady stream. Simmons even took to Twitter early this morning to shut everyone up — even though no one would really blame a 64-year-old rocker from pissing himself on stage.

Here’s the video from the Denver show. And don’t forget, KISS comes to the Xfinity Center in Mansfield with Def Leppard on August 1.
