Idaho cops handcuff and harass two dudes for discussing Nickelback

Public Service Announcement: Be careful when discussing Canadian rock band Nickelback. In places like Idaho, it can get you harassed, interrogated, and handcuffed by police.

In the city of Cour d’Alene, 23-year-old Dylan Swinford and 22-year-old Riker Morrow were discussing a nearby car playing Nickelback when eavesdropping police officers thought they were saying “nickel sack,” which the cops interpreted as slang for a bag of weed.

Swinford was taken out of the vehicle and placed in handcuffs. Morrow recorded the incident, and uploaded it to YouTube.

“It’s being internally investigated. It’s a personnel issue,” Lt. Stu Miller told CDA Press via KROQ. “We take this type of thing very seriously and we tell our people all the time to do their job as though someone is always watching, and they are always watching.”

And this is how they remind him.
