Throwing Shades: We’re taking it to the streets for Do617 Day

The great Stephen Pearcy of Ratt once sang “Out on the streets, that’s where we’ll meet,” and today, on this lovely Do617 Day, we’re taking it to heart.

By the suggestive nature of the calendar, our sister site has declared today Do617 Day — 6/17, get it? — and to celebrate we’re hitting a bunch of rock club and giving away some free shit, like concert tickets and dope-ass sunglasses. “But some of these clubs don’t open in the daytime,” you say; to which we reply: “Then we’ll take it to the streets. Or the closest drinking patio.”

Here’s the word, and schedule, from the Do Crew:

Hey! We’re officially declaring June 17 Do617 Day around town — get it, 6/17? — and to celebrate, we’re getting out of the office and into the springtime, crashing our favorite venues and giving out a fistful of concert tickets.

Oh, and we also have these sweet new Do617 sunglasses (see pic below). The sun is unforgiving, so shield your delicate eyes in unmistakable style! We’ll be wearing the white ones so you know who to look for.

We have a Santa-like sack of hard tickets to hand over, including passes to go see Jay Z & Beyonce, Luke Bryan, Wiz Khalifa, Hamilton Leithauser, Wild Beasts, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ceremony, Neon Trees, RX Bandits and The Dear Hunter, Gogol Bordello, Keyshia Cole, Johnny Lang, Cheap Trick, Chevelle, and the Pretty Reckless.

Yeah that’s right, go see Taylor Momsen for FREE. You’re welcome.

Check the schedule below; we’ll be hanging out outside these venues around these times. We’ll do on-site trivia and other cool contests right there on the spot, so come prepared to win.

We love ya like Telly Savalas, baby!
