Nearly 20 bands to play Saturday’s Christo Buffam Tribute Show in Brooklyn

Roughly two months after his unexpected passing in late March, friends and family of the late Christo Buffam have come together for a massive tribute show this Saturday in Brooklyn. Among the nearly 20 acts playing at Silent Barn are three of Buffam’s former bands, the Vandelles, Dead Leaf Echo, and Sanguine Drone, as well as two from Boston, 28 Degrees Taurus and Magic Shoppe. The event will be headlined by New York noise-rock wizards A Place To Bury Strangers.

Buffam attended Boston University and was from Wilton, Connecticut.

The Christo Buffam Tribute Show is part of Bushwick Open Studios. It’s a free, all-day show that starts at 3 p.m., and donations are encouraged. Money raised will go to Buffam’s family and the touring bands.

Check out a full list of the performers, as well as the event’s flyer below. And for those unfamiliar with Buffam’s music, check the links after the jump. We highly recommend his guitarwork with the Vandelles.
