Air Traffic Controller and the Field Effect added to Berklee + Vanyaland’s SXSW day party (03.13.14)

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]erklee College of Music and Vanyaland are joining forces a week from tomorrow for Boston & Beyond, a SXSW party spotlighting 11 of our favorite bands and artists with affiliations to the school. The party goes down on Thursday, March 13 from noon to 6 p.m. at Brush Square Park (West Tent), located at 409 East 5th St. in downtown Austin.

NOTE: The show is all ages and free for all — you just have to RSVP by emailing sxswrsvp@berklee.edu

With the daytime bash fast approaching, we are proud to announce that Boston’s the Field Effect and Air Traffic Controller have been added to the lineup. They have replaced Will Champlain and Carousel, respectively, who both had to withdraw from the event.

The Field Effect and Air Traffic Controller were targeted because they both were set to participate in the Outlaw Roadshow next weekend in Austin, but that two-day bash was unexpectedly cancelled last week. So we’re excited to not only add two homegrown bands, but provide stages for two acts that abruptly lost a showcase.

This is Berklee’s ninth annual SXSW party, and is presented by The Red Room @ Cafe 939, Alumni Affairs, and Heavy Rotation Records (HRR). Vanyaland is serving as media sponsor.

The rest of the lineup features Ashley Alexander, Friendly People, Cask Mouse, OldJack, Los Rumberos (HRR), Charles Johnson (HRR), Elizabeth & the Catapult, Evolfo Doofeht, and the Rare Occasions.
