Straight Busted: Get lost in the hazy late-night video vibes of King Cop’s ‘The Haunt Show’

We realize it’s just after 3:30 p.m. here in Boston, but let’s pretend it’s sometime after 3:30 a.m. and you’ve just come to after passing out on the couch in your basement watching Adult Swim or Wicked Tuna or whatever else helps you sleep these days. As your eyes slowly open, crusty, gunked-out, and combative, you’re met with this visual — the new hypnotic video from mysterious Massachusetts you-gaze project King Cop.

“The Haunt Show” flickers before you: familiar scenes approaching the city on Interstate 93 around the Zakim Bridge as the Garden fades out in the distance, a subliminally religious message from the Kowloon gods, and the hazy cult guitar half-vibes of Mr. King Cop himself (we presume).

What does it all mean? We have no idea.

We do know that “The Haunt Show” video was crafted by Loroto — the production duo behind delicious clips from Mean Creek, Young Adults, and Earthquake Party — and the song is fresh off King Cop’s fall EP Honcho.

We don’t even have to dial 666-420-KING, like the video suggests, to know what’s up there.

The rest is up for interpretation.
