Still Got The Beat: Listen to the new Belinda Carlisle single, ‘Goodbye Just Go’

True Story: My first ever celebrity crush was developed watching Belinda Carlisle’s 1987 music video “Heaven Is A Place On Earth,” but I would never watch to the end because I didn’t want to see the former Go-Go embraced by another dude. I was 8.

Fast forward nearly 20 years, and I still have a soft spot for the 55-year-old singer, who this week has released a new single called “Goodbye Just Go.”

It’s a feisty piano-ballad written by longtime collaborator Ellen Shipley, who along with Rick Nowles wrote a bunch of Carlisle tracks, including cuts off Belinda, Heaven on Earth, Runaway Horses, and Live Your Life Be Free. Shipley even wrote “Heaven Is A Place On Earth.”

Word is this new track, Carlisle’s second new tune in 18 years, will be featured on another greatest hits collection, The Collection and The Anthology, out next month.
