The Pixies are closing out 2013 with a fun little run through Europe this month and next, but Frank Black and crew are nowhere close to being done. Today, the alt-rock pioneers announced a 33-date extension to their world tour that kicks off just after the New Year and hits Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on January 18. And according to our friends at Bradley’s Almanac, fan club pre-sale tickets to the Boston gig go on sale at 10am today (Code: ANDRO). The Pixies are coming off a run of sold-out stateside club gigs, a successful new September EP titled EP-1, and the addition of new bassist Kim Shattuck, formerly of the Muffs, who replaces the otherwise-irreplaceable Kim Deal.
