Halloween is fast approaching, so it’s becoming harder and harder to tell the difference between costumes and everyday clothing. This, however, blurs the lines even further. Urban Outfitters has rolled out a one-of-a-kind ‘Vintage Men’s Punk Leather Jacket’ for the nice price of $375, complete with hand-drawn logos of all your favorite punk bands: Sex Pistols, Crass, GBH (no not WGBH), and the Clash. What, no Sum 41 patch?
Urban describes the jacket like this: “Crazy awesome vintage moto leather jacket from the 1990s. Topped with hand-painted punk logos at like Sex Pistols and Crass. Excellent vintage condition. We only have one, so get it or regret it!” At like Sex Pistols!
We realize it’s silly to pick low-hanging fruit like Urban Outfitters continued molestation of subcultures, but this seems a bit ridiculous. The front even comes adored with three pins, the largest reading “I’ve got a dirty mind.”
Score one for the white-hot gutter punk market.
