[download] DOZE “Losing Machine” // radio session tonight @ WUML.org 91.5 FM

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]onday afternoon isn’t the best time for DOZE. In new track “Losing Machine,” available to download/stream exclusively on Vanyaland, frontman Mike Cipriano longs for the glory of the weekend in the opening verse before droning on about a lifeless existence in the workplace, dealing “with assholes,” having his hands figuratively tied, and trying to keep his “head above water.”

It’s the Boston noise rock band’s first new music since last year’s ripping EP The Dirts, and picks up right where that blistering record left off.

“That’s how it has got to be/When you work for the losing machine,” he offers midway through the track, all while DOZE mechanically grinds away at a deliberate, crunchy, post-hardcore pace. By the time “Losing Machine” crescendos with a declaration of “I wanna to party all the time/I wanna party tie I die,” the workday blues are a distant memory, and DOZE has rung in 2013 with another stellar rock jam.

“We recorded it for our buddy that skates, he’s in a film coming out this fall and wanted a version to use,” says guitarist Tim Groch. “It’s from our demo and was never recorded properly till now.”

And perfect timing at that, as the DOZE dudes head up to Lowell tonight for a live session around 9:30pm on WUML 91.5 FM. Listen in online via wuml.org.

While you’re downloading the track in the link(s) above, check out The Dirts embedded below while you’re at it; it’s one of the best records to come out of Boston in 2012. DOZE’s next live gig is July 6 at Church with Blackbutton, but fear not we’ll have more on them before that summer party train arrives.
