Not too long ago psych-happy Welsh rock band Super Furry Animals unveiled a string of West Coast shows for February; a quick five-date, eight-night run that starts in Vancouver and ends in Los Angeles. From there, the band heads back to the United Kingdom for a few April shows with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and it appeared that us here on the East Coast were getting shut out of some much-needed Phantom Power.
But a sudden listing just popped up on Facebook via Bowery Boston. It’s a lonely listing, but seems legit: Super Furry Animals play the Sinclair in Cambridge on May 3. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon.
This clearly suggests the band is coming back to North America to satisfy the Atlantic side of the country, giving us a taste of the 15th anniversary Mwng shows. So we’ll post any additional dates as they emerge.
Until then, the party is in Cambridge (and the West Coast).
