We’re not sure if it’s actually spring yet around Boston, as we spent most of Marathon Monday seeking shelter from the rain and chilly breeze that has plagued our town in the fragile days after the snow finally melted. Regardless of the temperature outside, we’re going to play this new PINS track as we race down Memorial Drive with the windows down, allowing the Manchester guitar-rock quartet to make us feel alive for the very first time.
“Young Girls” is the latest off PINS’ new record, Wild Nights, out June 9 via Bella Union.
The track premiered yesterday on FADER, and PINS’ Faith Vern tells explains what’s up: “‘Young Girls’ is my ode to all the wanna-be’s and gonna-be’s, it’s about having a dream and making it happen. In many ways I feel like I am in the middle of a transition and ‘Young Girls’ is written from that vantage point; it’s full of determination, frustration and celebration… much like most days in this band!”
Pair this up with their recent cover of the Misfits’ Hybrid Moments, and the spring road trip mix is already starting to take shape.
We’re also told that PINS will be playing Great Scott in Allston on June 30, and though we didn’t see any larger announcement of a North American tour, tickets go on sale Friday. Get on it.
