Look alive, Boston – Mae Martin didn’t come all this way for you play dead, and they aren’t planning on doing it either.
With a fresh hour at the ready, Martin is primed to make their Wilbur debut with a little midweek levity planned for Wednesday (April 8) as part of their ongoing Possum tour. Not a lot has changed in terms Martin’s trajectory since we first reported on this date being announced, aside from a recent gig as host of the 55th annual Juno Awards in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada at the end of March, but that’s not to say that things have settled down for the Canadian comedy standout. In addition to two critically-acclaimed Netflix projects in Feel Good and their first hour special Sap, Martin also continues to co-host the Handsome podcast alongside Fortune Feimster and Tig Notaro, while keeping a consistent touring schedule on the books.
Simply put, Martin is one of the best in the game right now, and should be considered a celebration of sorts to welcome them to one of the most legendary stages in comedy history. So, like, be there.
MAE MARTIN: THE POSSUM :: Wednesday, April 8 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston :: 6:30 & 9 p.m., $45 to $66 :: Tickets and event Info
