Editor’s Note: “Boston Thriving” is an ongoing series from Vanyaland highlighting and honoring the national and global success of Boston- and New England-based bands and artists.

Multitudes, meet the masses.

Last month, Alisa Amador brought her song “Enough” — from her sprightly June album Multitudes — to The Kelly Clarkson Show. While the performance itself was recorded at Q Division Studios, the set was broadcast across the country on the June 27 edition of Clarkson’s weekday talk show, which also featured Eddie Murphy, Miranda Cosgrove, and Abby Elliott.

“I love the chance to highlight emerging artists here on the show,” Clarkson said when introducing Amador.

The Boston singer-songwriter made history two years ago when she became the first artist to win NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest with a Spanish language song. The victory unleashed a wave of anticipation for Amador’s first full-length record — which would eventually arrive as Multitudes.
