Sturgill Simpson, An Evening with Sturgill Simpson – Why Not? Tour, November 23 and 24 (second show added)

Sturgill Simpson is a man of his word. After promising to release only five studio albums under his own name, the famed Kentucky-born country artist kickstarts a new era as Johnny Blue Skies with the release of Passage Du Desir on July 12 via his own independent label High Top Mountain Records. With the new music comes new live shows, and Simpson closes out his first tour in four years with two appearances at MGM Music Hall at Fenway, this November 23 and 24. The run is dubbed the Why Not? Tour, and Simpson has a plan to ease the burden of high ticket prices. “The ‘Why Not?’ tour has opted out of using dynamic ticket pricing,” reads a video statement, viewable below. “We will be doing everything in our power to keep tickets in the hands of fans and out of the hands of scalpers. We are vetting our pre-sale sign ups for bad actors, doing face value ticket exchange, and limited platinum ticketing to combat scalpers and out of control prices.” Tickets go on sale on Friday (June 14) at 10 a.m. local time.
