Mick Jenkins, Thank You For Waiting Tour, January 24
Mick Jenkins has no issues with playing it cool. The Chicago rapper dropped acclaimed new album The Patience back in August, and soon takes it out across North America early next year for the Thank You For Waiting Tour, which hits the Paradise Rock Club on January 24. The new record is Jenkins’ first since 2021’s Elephant in the Room, continuing a rise that began with 2014 mixtape The Water[s]. And on The Patience, Jenkins deviates from his usual concept-driven method of crafting albums, instead experimenting with a more organic approach: “A lot of these new songs were made when I stopped focusing on a concept and just wrote spontaneously to the beat,” says Jenkins. “It gave me a new level of freedom.” The tour announcement arrives with a fresh video for “Mop,” the closing track on the album; get into it below.
