Editor’s Note: Alex Lahey brought her Best of Luck Club to a sold-out Great Scott in Allston last night (August 25). That’s the name of the brilliant Australian singer-songwriter’s sophomore album, released back in May to wide acclaim, but also a bit of a driving sentiment for Lahey as she navigates this crazy world. Inspired by the Nashville dive bar scene where strangers share their stories and experiences and wish each other the best on stage and off, Lahey’s new record continues her penchant for massive hooks and anthemic guitar-rock, a skill she showed off so heavenly on 2017’s I Love You Like A Brother. Last night she was well within her element, the latest stop on her Happy Hour Regional Tour, and Vanyaland’s John Hutchings was in the room capturing visuals of Lahey and opener Kingsbury.
