Body of Light display dark dance floor urgency on ‘Time To Kill’

Dais Records has a black-gloved stranglehold on the summer of 2019.

The bi-coastal American record label was already poised to take over darkened dance floors from New York to Los Angeles with the July 12 release of Drab Majesty’s new album, but now have amplified their electronic shock with a remarkable release from Body of Light.

The Arizona duo, birthed from the Copper State’s Ascetic House collective, today (June 6) dropped a synth-pop gem in new single “Time To Kill.” The track, which instantly feels timeless, echoes the best of the classic Different Drum era of the long-gone ’90s with traditional EBM bass grooves and appropriate fits of modernized electronic-pop. It also serves as the title track to Body of Light’s new album, set for release July 26 via Dais.

Body of Light are set to join Drab Majesty for the entirety of the Los Angeles tragic-wave group’s summer tour, including a July 27 stop at Phoenix’s Crescent Ballroom and an August 13 show at The Sinclair in Cambridge.
