Interpol announce ‘Fine Mess’ EP, prepare us for ‘The Weekend’

Fast Tracked: The new five-track release is billed as a 'living, breathing postcard' to fans as the band tours the globe

Interpol’s 2018 album Marauder was quite the crowd-pleaser, but it appears there’s plenty left in the New York post-punk band’s glowing tank of gloom. Today (March 28) they return with details of a new EP, Fine Mess, set for release May 17, and a new track called “The Weekend,” which follows the release of the scratchy title track a few weeks ago. A press release from Interpol describes the five-track EP as a “living, breathing postcard from the band to [our] fans as they tour the world throughout 2019.” There’s no Boston date on the horizon, but they are playing Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, and Atlanta’s Shaky Knees.
