Mic’d Up: Michelle Buteau shows us how to survive and thrive in Medford

Via The Wilbur

Surviving is one thing. Thriving is a completely different story. Luckily, Michelle Buteau is back in town this weekend to show us how we can do both when it’s needed most.

With the funk in her step and a new hour at the ready, Buteau returns to Medford’s Chevalier Theatre on Saturday (April 11) as part of her Surviving and Thriving tour. The return will be Buteau’s first full show in the city since 2023, but her most recent overall visit came back in November as part of Denis Leary’s annual battalion of hard-hitting comedians who took the stage for Comics Come Home 29 at TD Garden.

Since that last show in Medford, Buteau has kept hella busy on both stage and screen, as she released her most recent special, A Buteau-ful Mind at Radio City Music Hall, on Netflix in 2024, and lending her acting chops to Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip and the animated Netflix film Fixed in 2025.

So put on your Saturday best. Get funky, get fabulous, and get your ass to Medford, because Buteau isn’t just one of the funniest people in the biz. She’s also got a lot of golden wisdom embedded in the very fabric of her craft, and chances are it can help us all get through life – or at least the rest of the weekend – a little bit easier.
