The Wilbur is just the place for the biggest parties when it comes to comedy in the city, and no party is complete without a big ol’ bowl of something. That’s where Atsuko Okatsuka comes in.
With all the new freshness at the ready, Okatsuka prepares for her return to The Wilbur this week with the makings of a two-day comedy rager ready to pop off, with a sold-out show on Thursday (October 16) to kick things off in Boston as part of her Big Bowl tour. While we did get a sneak peek at the new hour last weekend at The Comedy Studio in Harvard Square, where the all-star comedian closed out the club’s Saturday late show as a special guest, it’ll be the first full offering of Okatsuka’s critically-acclaimed comedy since the release of her latest stand-up special, Father, which premiered on Hulu earlier this summer. In addition to her work in a live setting, Okatsuka also most recently lent her creative talents to the Pixar summer hit Elio.
It may be a heaping serving of quality comedy, but once you hit the bottom of the big bowl, you’ll wish there was more — so check it out before it becomes your next favorite special.
ATSUKO OKATSUKA :: Thursday, October 16 to Friday, October 17 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: 6:30 p.m. both nights, sold out :: Event Info
