Vintage Lee’s stage name has never been more appropriate.
The Roxbury rapper last month (July 15) released her Grease Pack tape, a 13-track collection of new tunes and vintage — er, classic — releases. Spanning 2020’s snappy “KADAKAKA” to her 2024 UnoTheActivist collab “SHORELINE,” right up to recent songs like “YKMB (You Know My Body),” Grease Pack pairs the old(er) with the new: Gyrating jams like “East To South” and “OOO,” which also received its own music video last month.
“Mannnn I’ve learnt a lot of the years,” she writes on Instagram to announce the project. “I’ve found myself waiting for the ‘perfect’ moment, when there isn’t one. I lost myself, lost my brother, couldn’t walk for two years, heartbreak, been left in the cold by ppl I believed in that I thought had my best interest.. was listening to everyone but myself. It’s been a long time coming & I’m very very appreciative of those who’ve stuck by my side on this journey. ‘If u helped me Out I ain’t forgot’.”
